MEET YOUR COACH

I live in Pinehurst, North Carolina with my husband and daughter. I own Humble Hungry Athlete & train CrossFit. I love Harry Potter & reading motivational books. I also love good coffee, tacos, prime steak & warm chocolate chip cookies with milk for dessert. I love relaxing at the Michigan Lakeshore with my family on the boat and winding down with an episode of The Office with my hubby & daughter.

Since I can remember I have been involved in sports. I did everything I could but basketball was my passion. I would strength train before practice & stay after to work on my shooting. As high school progressed, so did politics & I decided to pursue cheerleading my junior and senior year & into my freshman, sophomore and junior year of college. My body image issues started in high school because I was more muscular & went into cheer. I trained to be a flyer for co-ed stunting & realized I was bigger than the other girls. This started my disordered eating. I would drink my sugar filled coffee in the morning and wait until 3 to eat my subway sandwich. I lost weight..but food was the enemy. I remember writing 125 on my door so I was motivated to see that number on the scale. When I did, nothing changed.. I wasn't happier, I was just 125lbs. I graduated with my B.S. in Health and Exercise Science & moved home to Michigan.

I started CrossFit in 2013 & began learning its methodologies, Currently holding my CrossFit Level 2 Certification. Paleo & zone were super big at that time, along with Whole 30. I started eating cleaner & noticed a difference in my performance & body composition. I wanted to get fitter & I knew I was doing everything I could in the gym to meet my goals, but nutrition was the next step. I got my PNL1 & have been tracking macros since 2017. I started dabbling in nutrition coaching during that time with challenges at my gym & a few friends, but I was still working full time bartending and waiting tables (because it paid the bills).

In 2018 life started to change, I met my husband, we got pregnant quicker than we had planned. I transitioned to North Carolina where he was in the army. As soon as I had Regan I started managing a gym, doing exercise programming & still nutrition on the side.

In 2022 I decided to start HHA & help change peoples lives FULL time. Focusing on nutrition, mindset & lifestyle changes that are habit building & sustainable. In 2024 I received my Functional Nutrition & Metabolism Specialization Certification, elevating my coaching to help more complex cases with nagging issues, plateaus or failed gains. Taking a deep dive with a science based approach to help my clients achieve health optimization.

Health and wellness has always been a priority in my life, but it wasn't until I wanted to perform to the best of my abilities that I changed my habits and my mindset. Over the last 11 years I have evolved as a competitive CrossFit athlete, a coach, programmer and now full time Nutrition Coach because I genuinely want to help people like you who are seeking to create a different narrative for yourself and become the best versions of yourselves that you can be. I’m still forever growing and learning more about myself and trying to be better. I want that for you, too.

Building a healthy lifestyle from all pillars is a practice that takes a lot of intentionality and hard work. But we can’t experience true growth without hardship, and any great journey is non-linear. There will be peaks and valleys, but the progress will always be forward. Be patient with that process, and I can assure you that you will not be in the same place you started!
