We will work closely with macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients (Macros) make up the food that our bodies require in large amounts and provide the body with energy (calories) that hold specific functions in the body.
The three primary macronutrients that make up most of our food are protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Each macronutrient has a different structure and functions differently in the body, but they all provide energy in the form of calories.
Micronutrients are nutrients that the body needs in smaller amounts, such as vitamins, minerals, and water. If we are eating a diet rich in nutrient-dense foods, we should be consuming adequate amounts of all of these micro and macronutrients.
